Police seek info on cow chasers

WESTMINSTER Police are investigating acts of animal cruelty, vehicle theft and possible arson.

Sometime between Thursday night and Friday morning, someone drove a stolen vehicle through a gate into a pasture on Newcomb Road and chased 40 cows around the pasture.

The chase injured two of the cows, one of which suffered a broken leg.

Police said it appears the vehicle became stuck and caught fire and investigators trying to determine if the fire was an act of arson. Anyone with knowledge of the fire is asked to call the Vermont Arson Tip reward Program at (800) 32-ARSON.

Anyone with knowledge of the stolen vehicle, the vandalism or the animal cruelty should call the State Police in Rockingham at 875-2112 or the Bellows Falls Police Department at 463-1234.
